SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND HEALTH
TECHNOLOGY
During the past academic year, the School of Public
Health and Health Technology (SPHHT) continued to
consolidate its position as an integral part of the Joint
Colleges of Medicine, Oral Health and Veterinary
Sciences.
Course of Study
During the period under review, adjustments were
made to the Master of Public Health course of
study to include modules, Fundamentals of Human
Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Reproductive Health.
This modification strengthens the Public Health training
and practice and makes it more current and relevant.
Accreditation
The School has advanced its plans in having an
Accreditation Officer and Accreditation Support in
place for assisting with accreditation activities.
Ongoing Research Project
Prof. Winston Davidson Head, School of Public
Health and Technology made a presentation to the
University Diabetes Outreach Programme International
Conference in March 2015 on his ongoing research
project - The Four Stages Theory of Prevention: the
impact of the environment on the Causation of Diabetes
Mellitus and the management of chronic diseases.
