Shakes Diana, Mrs
Diana Shakes is a full-time lecturer in the College of Business and Management at the University of Technology, Jamaica since August 2014. In addition to being a member of faculty, she has successfully led several committees such as Joint Conference Chair, Chair of the Continuing Education Committee in the School of Business Administration and Chair of the Celebration of Excellence Committee in the College of Business and Management. Mrs. Shakes has also served as an adjunct lecturer at both the graduate and undergraduate levels at the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean and the International University of the Caribbean respectively.
Prior to becoming an academic, Mrs. Shakes worked in the Administrative and Technical Services Division at the Bank of Jamaica for twelve (12) years. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of the West Indies, Mona, has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Technology, Jamaica, and a Bachelors degree from Nova Southeastern University, Florida. Mrs. Shakes is a member of the Lay Magistrates Association of Jamaica, the Human Resource Management Association of Jamaica and Justice of the Peace for St. Catherine. Mrs. Shakes has also served as a consultant in several capacities related to training and higher education with several entities including the Inter- American Development Bank, Jamaica Business Development Corporation, Ministry of Education, Youth and Information and Management Institute for National Development. Mrs. Shakes is an optimist who always says that her glass is half full and not half empty.
