UTech, Jamaica Students To Attend International Student Energy Summit in Mexico

Mr. Roberto Ellis, Technical Assistant in the Caribbean Sustainable Energy and Innovation Institute (CSEII), University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech, Ja.) enrolled in the Master of Science in Sustainable Energy and Climate Change and Mr Tevin Butler, final year Bachelor of Engineering – Electrical Engineering student, Faculty of Engineering and Computing, UTech, Jamaica have been selected as delegates to attend the 2017 International Student Energy Summit to be held in Merida, Mexico from June 13 – 16, 2017.

The Summit is a global forum that focuses on sustainable resource management and the role that students will play in defining the future of energy development. Tevin and Roberto entered the EKLA Energy Contest organized and supported by the Regional Program Energy Security and Climate Change in Latin America of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and won full bursaries to attend to the summit.

The summit will feature interactive discussions on The Future of Energy through the Sustainable Development Goals; Markets and Finance of the Energy Transition and The evolving Environment of Energy Law and Policy.
