Staff and students from the Caribbean School of Nursing warmly receive three Prestan Professional Infant mannequins donated by Dr. Trisha Bailey to aid in the practice of Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on March 13, 2025. This generous donation follows Dr. Bailey's visit in November 2024 to explore partnership opportunities with UTech, Jamaica. On March 13, 2025, three (3) Prestan Professional Infant mannequins were handed over to the University of Technology of Jamaica, on behalf of Dr. Trisha Baliey, Jamaican-born billionaire, philanthropist, and Chief Executive Officer of Bailey's Medical Supplies and Bailey's Pharmacy. The donation was presented to staff and students of the Caribbean School of Nursing (CSON), College of Health Sciences. These mannequins will give students the opportunity to practice Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

This donation stemmed from discussions during Dr. Bailey’s visit to the university on November 13, 2024, when she explored potential partnership opportunities to support and advance the institution’s programmes and infrastructure. The visit focused on opportunities to expand STEM education, enhance nursing facilities, and provide scholarships to underserved students.

During the initial visit, Dr. Bailey expressed her enthusiasm for the university's direction and assured its leaders of her commitment to offer support through guidance, scholarships, and other initiatives. She specifically mentioned her interest in supporting science programmes and females from underserved communities at the institution.

The presentations of the new mannequins were done by Mr. Howard Baker, Chief of Staff for Dr Bailey’s Operations, and Mr. Aldrick McNab, Pro Chancellor, UTech, Jamaica who has been instrumental in connecting the University with philanthropist, Dr. Trisha Bailey. Mr. Chris Jones, Building Contractor Engineer for local business, Dr. Bailey's Operations also participated in the presentation.

In attendance to receive the donation were Miss Rachel Rowe, Lecturer, CSON, nursing and midwifery students and Professor Adella Campbell, Dean, College of Health Sciences.
