Special Notice: Closure of the University

In light of the Prime Minister’s announcement today concerning the closure of schools and his comments relating to Universities, I am writing to indicate that the University of Technology, Jamaica will be closed for the period of 14 consecutive days, effective tomorrow, March 13, 2020.  During this 14-day period, we will be undertaking steps to put properly in place access for students to classes via online means.  We will also seek to put in place additional measures to accommodate our students and other stakeholders.

Closure of the University will mean that lectures and other formal teaching activities will not take place.  We will provide further details on the implications of the closure in the coming days, but, for now, it is to be noted that no classes should be held at any of the University’s locations.
