The University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech, Jamaica) seeks to identify a suitable candidate to fill the following post: 


Records Assistant – Level 5B (6 Posts) 


The Records Assistant is responsible for the efficient management of information placed on all students’ records and the distribution of all academic records from the office. The incumbent will be required to perform a variety of clerical, including updating students’ record, preparing academic records upon requests as well as providing excellent customer service. 



  • Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent qualifications. 



The candidate should possess:  

  • Knowledge of the University’s academic policies and procedures 

  • Knowledge of the University’s grading scheme and all related processes 

  • Knowledge of the calculation of Grade Point Averages and Class of Awards for all students 

  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures, and equipment 

  • Knowledge of computerized and manual record-keeping systems 

  • Specialized training in customer service and records management   

  • Knowledge of the Integrated Student Administrative System (ISAS) would be an asset 

  • Excellent customer service, time management and organization skills 

  • Ability to pay attention to details, good judgment and tact; and 

  • At least one (1) year experience in a related field
