The University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech, Jamaica) seeks to identify a suitable candidate to fill the following post:
Maintenance Officer
Level 7-Permanent (2 Post)
Salary range $2,634,580.00 p.a. - $3,116,519.00 p.a.
Job Description:
The maintenance officer is responsible for carrying out maintenance repairs of equipment, buildings and property owned and operated by the University, establishing preventative maintenance procedures, and ensuring that all the required amenities are in place.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The preferred applicant should possess:
- a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Construction Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized tertiary institution.
- three (3) years of working experience in facilities maintenance including at least one (1) year in a supervisory position
- in-depth knowledge of maintenance management practices, procurement/supply chain processes and building/construction materials, techniques and practices.
- sound knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for mechanical/electrical operations and construction operations, inclusive of lock-out tag-out procedures.
- good knowledge of electrical installation and building construction trades.
- sound knowledge of the operation of the mobile equipment used in the maintenance of the University facility.
- comprehensive knowledge of maintenance requirements for office equipment, food lab equipment and general office and class furniture.
- working knowledge of the University’s security standards and systems.
- sound knowledge of the computer applications associated with the maintenance of equipment and property.
- in-depth knowledge of maintenance and automated building management software systems.
- working knowledge of construction techniques and practices.
