Mrs. Simone McGregor- Jackson, Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer, in moving the Vote of Thanks extended gratitude to all involved in the production of the 53rd Annual Staff Awards Ceremony and noted specially the dedication and support of the organizing team in the Human Resource and Management Division. She further thanked Corporate Communications, the Events R Us team, Learning Technologies Support Unit (LTSU), the Musical performers, the Facilities Management Team, Business and Finance, Calvin McKain Library, Claudette Lewis Catering, the Printery, ushers, awardees and the presenters. The ceremony was chaired by Mr. Maurice Colquhoun, Lecturer in the School of Business Administration, UTech, Jamaica. Forty-Five Years of Service Ms. Delva Barnes, former College Administrator, College of Health Sciences accepts her long service award for 45 years of service to the university, from Professor Colin Gyles, CD, Acting President, at the 53rd Annual Staff Awards held in the Alfred Sangster Auditorium on September 7, 2023. Ms Barnes, a former recipient of the President's Award for Administrative Excellence in 2014, was recognized for her unwavering service to the University of Technology, Jamaica for four and a half decades. Ms. Barnes has held various positions during her tenure, including secretary, office manager, faculty administrator, and College Administrator at the College of Health Sciences. Her instrumental role in the transfer of the West Indies School of Health programmes to the then Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences was pivotal in the transformation of the College of Health Sciences. Ms. Barnes was highly regarded as a supportive colleague and mentor, who was always willing to share her knowledge and to go above and beyond the call of duty.
