VOICES Bi-Monthly Magazine of the University of Technology, Jamaica | September – December 2021 24 Outstanding students of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM), College of Business and Management, Nigelee Mussington and Danielle Legister were selected for the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP)/Exchange Programme between UTech, Jamaica and Humber College in Toronto, Canada. The students will complete their second semester modules with Humber College for the Winter Semester with classes from January to April 2022. The ELAP Scholarship includes coverage of expenses related to the students’ return airfare, study permit, boarding, learning material, meals and tours. School of Hospitality and Tourism Management Students Awarded ELAP Scholarship for Semester II, 2022 Community Service Department hosts Christmas Treat for Children l-R Nigelee Mussington, 3rd Year B. Sc. Hospitality and Tourism Management - Hotel and Resort Management Major and Danielle Legister, 3rd Year Bsc in Hospitality & Tourism Management - Tourism Management Major. Members of the University Community, led by the Department of Community Service and Development on December 14, 2021 visited the Shady Grove Basic School to spread good cheer to students. The group in interacting with the young students, participated in the singing of Christmas Carols, provided a meal and presented each student with a gift package containing stationery and other treats. The University also received donations from the Optimist Club of Pelicans to support the purchase of meals and treats for the students. Mr Paulton Gordon, Director of Community Service and Development, UTech, Jamaica, serves a student of the Shady Grove Basic school with a meal during a Christmas treat at the Hope Road school on December 14, 2021.
