VOICES Bi-Monthly Magazine of the University of Technology, Jamaica | January – April 2020 18 Keynote speaker was Dr. Patrece Charles, Chief Executive Officer of the Phoenix Counselling Centre. She urged the nursing and midwifery students to “take pride in how far you’ve come and have faith in how far you can go, but don’t forget to enjoy the journey.” She further charged the students to face the challenges of their chosen profession with integrity, and to use each lesson as a learning experience. The ceremony also included the presentation of special awards to Dean’s List Nursing and Midwifery students who attained a GPA of 3.45 and above, and to representatives from partner organizations NAJ & Health Services Co- Operative Credit Union Limited, the National Health Fund, Kirk Distributors Limited and Massy Distributors Limited, for their continued support of the College of Health Sciences, and the Caribbean School of Nursing in particular. Mr. Eccleston Mais, 4th Year Nursing Student and COHS Student Representative gave the Vote of Thanks, while Mr. Jessie James Clarke, Lecturer, Medical Technology, served as the moderator of the ceremony.
