The hooding ceremony recognises the achievements of the dental surgeons who have completed their course of study and are now ready for graduation from the University. Renae Williams, final year Doctor Medical Dentistry student shows off her multiple awards received for academic excellence at the Hooding Ceremony. Professor Colin Gyles, Deputy President, UTech, Jamaica shares in the happy occasion. Ms Williams was awarded the Optimum Trading Limited Award for Outstanding Academic Performance in Operative and Restorative Dentistry, the College of Oral Health Sciences Award for Outstanding Performance in Paediatric Dentistry, the Ministry of Health Oral Health Services Award for Outstanding Performance in Fixed Prosthodontics, among other accolades.
