Previously we were in an uncomfortable position, wondering if we did the right thing in terms of choosing to study at UTech, Jamaica. This now gives us some assurance that we made a great choice.” Kadisha Smith College of Health Sciences Course of Study: Bachelor of Science in Nursing “I think it’s great that the University has been accredited by the UCJ. It makes me feel more secure about getting a job when I graduate.” Kahleel McFarlane Faculty of Engineering and Computing Course of Study: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science “I think that it is a revolutionary move that will change the socio-political landscape of all professions in Jamaica. It now makes UTech, Jamaica one of the most competitive universities not just locally and regionally but internationally. It gives every student who comes here to pursue a degree a sense of security. They are not disadvantaged in any area or arena. I want to say well done UTech, Jamaica and we love you and we are very proud. Well done to all the administrative staff and stakeholders. I am definitely happy that UTech got the accreditation process out of the way because the University’s student populous was very concerned about it.” Stephanie Steele Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies Course of Study: Bachelor of Education in Industrial Technology “It is a good step for the University of Technology, Jamaica because persons like to compare us with UWI because they have a better history.
