9 August 2018 | VOICES Bi-Monthly Magazine of the University of Technology, Jamaica T he University of Technology, Jamaica hosted its annual Academic Induction Ceremonies at the Western Campus on August 23, 2018 and at the Papine Campus on August 24, 2018. The annual Academic Induction Ceremony is the University’s culminating activity for the week of orientation, when all undergraduate students are formally welcomed to the University and introduced to the University Council, members of the Executive Management team and other administrative and academic staff. President, Professor Stephen Vasciannie in his charge to new students affirmed the University’s commitment to continue towards its vision of becoming a world class centre of learning, committed to the quality of its academic programmes and the optimization of the physical environment for our students. The President also urged students to enjoy themselves. “University is a time when you enjoy yourselves. If you enjoy yourselves, you will do well,” he said.
