25 February 2018 | VOICES Bi-Monthly Magazine of the University of Technology, Jamaica O n November 26, 2017 a team from the University of Technology, Jamaica and the University of the West Indies visited Estonia, Europe to scan the environment and determine possibilities for student and staff mobility, research and e-Learning. The UTech, Jamaica team was led by Dr. Joseph Grannum, Lecturer, College of Oral Health Sciences and Dr. Adella Campbell, Associate Professor and Head, Caribbean School of Nursing. The visit to Estonia resulted from the ERASMUS+ Project (European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) initiated by Dr. Grannum (then, Western Campus Coordinator). While in Estonia the team toured the Tartu University Hospital/Clinic’s Radiology Department, state-of-the-art laboratories, women’s clinic and sports medicine and rehabilitation clinic and the South Estonian Hospital in Vuru. The team also attended meetings and tours at Tartu Health Care College, Stradins Medical College of the University of Lavia and the Tallinn University of Technology. Discussions for collaboration between UTech, Jamaica and these institutions are continuing.
