UTech. Ja Thrives at 65: Forging Technological Innovation. Driving Development University of Technology, Jamaica ACADEMIC STAFF PROMOTIONS TO THE RANK OF SENIOR LECTURER Mrs. Vivia M. Clarke joined the University of Technology, Jamaica. In August 2005 in the School of Technical and Vocational Education (SOTAVE), Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies (FELS). She holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Development and a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies (Major with a Minor in Psychology with honours), both degrees were attained from the University of the West Indies. She also holds a diploma in Technical Education from University of Technology, formerly CAST. Mrs. Clarke delivers modules both at the graduate and undergraduate level and is currently the Programme Leader for the MSc in Workforce Training and Education where she is focused on increasing access and improved articulation with TVET institutions. She was also the former Programme Director for the Business & Computer Studies Specialization in the faculty. In that position she assisted in reviewing the course of study, and led in establishing collaborative partnership with industry and secondary schools in highlighting the importance of business education, as an engine of growth. She was also the option leader for the Administrative Management & Technology. Her research interests are in the areas of human capital development and workforce education and training and the impact of emerging technologies. Mrs. Clarke has been a member of several committee on behalf of and within the Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies over the years including the FSAC, examinations committee and the faculty board committee. Her professional presence includes; Ministry of Education Youth & Culture; trainer for the implementation of the National standards Committee (NSC), the Jamaica Teaching Council; the business education Master Teacher assessment Panel, external examiner for the Council of Community Colleges of Jamaica (CCCJ) and the Mico University College.
