A Steering Committee and Working Group, each with broad-based membership, were established to provide oversight and monitoring throughout the project. The consultants have trained key internal stakeholders in the fundamentals of business process management; submitted an Inception Report; held extensive consultations with key staff in target areas and provided detailed update reports. The project is scheduled to be completed in December 2020. Office Institutional Research The department continued to make strides in transforming UTech, Jamaica into a more data-centric campus. With the acquisition of Microsoft Power Business Intelligence software (Power BI), more intuitive reports were created. This led to increased efficiency and effectiveness in most areas. In addition to providing routine data to the various departments and divisions, the Office also provided more specialized reports that were sometimes used to support national research initiatives. These included submissions to the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) and the Jamaica Tertiary Education Commission (JTEC). The department expanded on its survey capabilities and conducted surveys not only on an institutional level, but also on a departmental level.
