Cultural Exchange A delegation of seven debaters and debate administrators including Ms. Rushana Jarrett participated in a debate and cultural exchange at the University of West Georgia in Atlanta USA from October 10-16, 2019. Third Stream Income – CAT Productions Concentrated efforts were made during the period under review to establish CAT Productions, to be a major third stream arm of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. CAT Productions engaged in the creation of a five-minute multi-segment promotional video for the BACAT. Collaborations/International Linkages FHI360/HEART-NTA The SOTAVE continued to expand its partnerships with the FHI 360, HEART-NTA, and Jamaica Teaching Council (JTC). These partnerships have produced the development of new programmes. In the case of FHI 360, the Bachelor’s Degree in Entertainment Design, Production and Technology programme which officially commenced in January 2020. In addition, discussions were initiated with FHI360 and SOTAVE to explore the development of a teacher training programme to support the Associate degree in Image Consulting and Fashion Styling as well as the BSc Entertainment Design, Production and Technology Programmes. FHI360 also provided consultants to assist FELS staff with curriculum development for the new programmes. Community Service y Mrs. Stephanie Anderson Chung participated in the Caribbean Maritime University’s Full Immersion Spanish Development Project held on Friday, June 28, 2019, where she did a presentation, in Spanish, on the DELE B1 examination. It is hoped that the teachers in attendance will prepare to sit the examination in 2020. y Mrs. Stewart-McKoy facilitated a workshop on Technology in the Writing Classroom on Monday, August 12, 2019. y Students from the Industrial Technology programme have been engaged in the renovation of bathroom facilities at the St. Jago High School.
