Accredited by the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ) ANNUAL REPORT 2018-2019 University of Technology, Jamaica 93 Week of Excellence in the Visual and Performing Arts 2019 The Centre for the Arts hosted the annual Week of Excellence in the Visual and Performing Arts fromMarch 25 to 29, 2019 with additional performances held on April 2, 3, 4, and 8, 2019. The well-received showcase included performances from the Instrumental Band, the Steel Band, the UTech, Jamaica Drama Company and the elective Drama, Choir, Dancer and Music Groups. Marketing Unit Student Ambassador Programme Twenty-nine (29) students from across the colleges and faculties were selected to participate in the Student Ambassador Programme. The newly appointed student ambassadors were formally welcomed to the programme at a special launch ceremony held on March 25, 2019 at the Papine Campus. As positive youth leaders, these students will be expected to promote the values of the University, enriching its impact on the community and building the University’s brand. Student Ambassadors will participate in University events and activities including promotional campaigns in print, television, radio and social media, lead tours of the Campus and receive visitors, as well as assist new students in transitioning to university life; and participating in student recruitment activities on and off the Campus. 60th Anniversary Commemora- tion – Street Signage As part of initiatives to commemorate the University’s 60th anniversary; road signs were placed in strategic locations at the Papine Campus as well as Hope Road and At right, Minister Terrelonge admires the 60th Anniversary mural which was also unveiled on April 5, 2018.
