Accredited by the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ) ANNUAL REPORT 2018-2019 University of Technology, Jamaica 90 Advancement Division Cont’d. seeking expert opinion from the University on various national issues. Eleven (11) television and radio interviews were arranged with UTech, Jamaica Experts during the period. Communication and Protocol Support • Events management, communication and protocol support services were provided for over eighty (80) University events. • The Corporate Communications Unit prepared and disseminated a steady flow of information on developments at the University, in the form of news releases, press advisories, press invitations, captioned photographs and advertorials. Approximately 70% of issued news items were published in the press, used in news casts or published online. • Six (6) advertorial newspaper features, including a 60th Anniversary Supplement, highlighting academic excellence, service, research, student, faculty and staff achievements were produced and published in The Gleaner and the Jamaica Observer. Alumni Relations Office The Alumni Relations objectives of the University are three-fold i.e. 1) To connect Alumni to the University, 2) To connect Alumni to each other and 3) To connect Alumni to the current student body.
