Such services included development and implementation of curricula, standards, policies, procedures and regulations to govern the delivery of the University’s academic programmes at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Institutional Accreditation The University was awarded Institutional Accreditation status by the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ) for seven (7) years, from February 2018 to February 2025. Development of New Courses of Study New Courses developed: y BSc. in Computer Networking & Security y BSc. in Computer Information Systems y Associate of Arts Degree in Image Consulting and Fashion Styling y Associate of Science in Baking and Pastry Arts y Master of Science in Integrated Rural Development y The following courses of study were revised: y B.Sc.in Science and Education (Major/Minor Option) y B.Sc. in Child & Adolescent Development- Minor in Early Childhood Administration y Bachelor of Science in Midwifery Office of Quality Assurance The major focus of the Of f ice o f Qua l i t y Assurance (OQA) for the period April 2018- March 2019 was the preparation of the University for an Institutional Accreditation v i s i t a n d assessment by the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ). The accreditation visit took place over the period May 31 to April 4, 2018. Academic Quality Audit All Schools within the University have been audited: The Internal Academic Quality Audit complements and amplifies the accreditation process and is a major contributor to strengthening the internal quality assurance system of the University. As part of the monitoring of the quality of our courses, Schools will be re-audited every three years. Schools continue to use the audit reports to inform quality enhancement, and feedback on the contribution of the Internal Academic Quality Audits towards quality improvement remains positive. Student Instructor-Module Evaluation The University continued with the paper-based administration of the Student Instructor Module The student response for Academic Year 2018/2019 was 25,440 and 26,528 for Semesters 1 and 2 respectively.
