Labour Day Project The Western Campus partnered with the St. James Municipal Corporation for the execution of Labour Day activities on May 23, 2018. The team assisted in repainting and beautification of the facilities and grounds at the Lethe Primary and Infant school. National Solid Waste Day The Western Campus participated in a health and wellness fair hosted by the NSWMA and the WPM Waste Management Limited in Daniel Town, Trelawny. The event was in recognition of National Solid Waste Day on June 6, 2018. The fair targeted residents and students within the area who received information on proper solid waste disposal practices. Falmouth Infirmary The Western Campus partnered with a team led by Mrs. Valrie McKenzie, Dental Nurse and Lecturer from the School of Oral Health on their annual visit to the Falmouth Infirmary on August 17, 2018. The visit involved the offer of dental services to the residents of the infirmary. This visit involved the donation of basic supplies including a well needed industrial washing machine, achieved with support from the UTech Foundation, Appliance Traders Limited, the Trelawny Municipal Corporation, and other friends of the University. MoBay City Run Scholarship Several students and staff volunteered their services in the preparation phases and on the day of the Mobay City Run 5k/10k Run which was held on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Additionally, the Western Campus participating team had thirteen members. On September 19, 2018, a small contingent of staff and students led by the Campus Coordinator, attended the scholarship presentation ceremony. The University received an award of Seven Hundred Thousand Dollars ($700,000) to be shared among fifteen scholarship recipients. Cirlce K Club The Circle K Club visited Catherine Hall Primary School on November 2, 2018. The visit included a tree planting exercise on the school grounds. CAPE Workshops • The Caribbean School of Sport Sciences in partnership with the Western Campus hosted the CAPE Physical Education Workshop on Friday, November 30, 2018. The forum was attended by Holland High School, Cornwall College, Knox High School, Herbert Morrison Technical High School and Montego Bay High School. • On April 23, 2019 the School of Business Administration hosted two Cape workshops in Accounting and Economics at the Dome Street Campus. Over twenty students participated. Mr. Kerwin Hamil and Mr. Floyd Garden facilitated the sessions. UTech, Jamaica students pose with staff and students at the Catherine Hall Primary School
