International Visitors/Adjunct Faculty Date of Visit Dr Ronald Guttu (Adjunct Professor) delivered Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery clinical session and lectures to DMD Year 5 students May 25-30, 2018 September 3-9, 2018 Dr Sharon Gordon and Dr Raymond Dionne (Guest Professor of Pain and Analgesia) delivered lectures for Pain and Analgesia module to the Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) Year 2 students. October 27-31, 2018 Dr Leigh Ann Schuerman (Guest Lecturer) coordinated the ADEX/CDCA Board Examination held May 16-19, 2018, August 22-25, 2018 & November 15-17, 2018. May 13-20, 2018 August 19-26, 2018 November 11-18, 2018 Dr Leigh Ann Schuerman (Guest Lecturer) delivered special lectures & mock exam to prepare Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) Year 5 students for Periodontology ADEX/CDCA Board Examination and also review sessions for the DMD Year 4 & Dental Hygiene Year 2 students. She also delivered lecturers and clinical sessions in Forensic Odontology to the DMD students. July 10-17, 2018 October 7-14, 2018 March 25-29, 2019 Dr Denise Young-Brady, (Guest Lecturer) delivered lectures and clinical demonstration in Periodontic Dentistry to the DMD Years 2-5 students. She also presented at the CISPROH Conference. October 25 -Nov 4, 2018 February 28-March 7, 2019 Dr Brett Gilbert (Guest Lecturer & American Board Certified Endodontist) delivered lectures and supervision of dental clinic in Endodontics to the DMD Years 3-5 students on March 15, 2019 from 10:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Dr Gilbert was on a mission trip in St. Elizabeth and volunteered a day to the College. Dr Gilbert is the Director of Post-graduate resident externship programme at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics. March 15, 2019 Dr Nauman Chatha (Guest Lecturer & American Board Certified Endodontist) delivered a 2-hour lecture to the DMD students in Endodontics on March 22, 2019. Dr Chatha is an Endodontist and a Lecturer at Harvard University School of Dental Medicine. March 22, 2019 Community Service Community outreach activities forms a critical component of oral health activities for the College. These activities serve as community contributions as well as providing necessary clinical practice hours for Dental Hygiene and Doctor of Medical Dentistry students. The services offered are generally free or offered at a minimal cost to the client to defray material cost. Dental services are offered island wide by the College or in collaboration with non-profit organisations, community groups, special needs organisations and any group or organisation requesting dental services. The primary objectives of this initiative is to introduce and extend dental care to rural communities, inner- city communities, schools, special needs individuals, homeless persons, incarcerated persons and persons who would otherwise not be able to afford dental care. The age range of patients seen at each outreach activity varies from first grade students to senior citizens. Patients with periodontal disease and cases requiring extensive dental care that cannot be addressed during the dental outreach programmes are referred to the Dental Clinic at The College for further treatment. Services offered during health fairs generally include Examination and Charting, Back to School Dental Reports, Dental Prophylaxis (Preventative services), Fluoride Varnish (Preventative services), Scaling and Root Planing (Periodontal services), Exodontia (Oral Surgery), Sealant (Preventative Filling Service),
