Staff Achievements y Adjunct Professor Irving McKenzie and Associate Professor Su Yin Htun have made presentations at several International Dental Conferences during the Academic Year 2018/2019. y Dr. Su Yin Htun (Associate Professor), Dr Thin Thin Khin (Lecturer), Dr Renaꞌ Francis (Lecturer) and Dr Hilary Jones (Adjunct Senior Lecturer) received awards as Fellows in the International College of Dentists ICD in November 2018. y Dr. Su Yin Htun (Associate Professor) received the invitation in February 2019 to be Chairperson at the 24th International Conference on Oral and Maxillofacial surgery (ICOMS 2019) Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to be held in May 2019. y Dr. Su Yin Htun (Associate Professor) received the invitation in February 2019 as Honorable Invited Speaker at 3rd Edition of International Conference on Dentistry and Oral Health (ICDO) London, UK to be held in September 2019. y Miss Valrie McKenzie, Lecturer, was bestowed with the title Justice of Peace in April 2018. She received the President’s Award for Outstanding Service to the University and Community at UTech, Jamaica’s Annual Staff Awards Ceremony in May 2018 and Community Service Award for Outstanding Community Service, August 2018. Ms McKenzie also received the UTech, Jamaica’s Alumni 60th Award for service to University and Community in March 2019. y Miss Charlene Medwinter (Office Attendant) and Ms Courtney Ramdeen (Receptionist) were awarded a Certificate in Chairside Dental Assisting (level 1) course of study in March 2019. Visiting Professors/Guest Lecturers The College continued to benefit from the voluntary services of Visiting Professors, International Adjunct Faculty and guest lecturers who have shared their expertise and contributed to the development of the Dental courses of study. This has assisted in the development of competent graduates and ensures the students receive high quality dental education and quality assurance. Students don their white coats at the annual 7th Annual White Coat Ceremony on November 6, 2018.
