It was implemented through the Office of Distance Learning and payment is managed by the library. Training for lecturers is ongoing. Print Collection: The print collection stood at approximately 136,951 volumes at the end of the period under review. Additionally, there were approximately 79,000 e-books acquired through subscription and by direct purchase. Loans and Borrowing Trends Throughout the year there was a sustained effort to expand access to digital content as such e-books, e-journals and electronic databases. This decision was once again supported by the continued decline in the use of print resources. As can be seen from the Loans and Circulation data in the table below, total loans for print resources amounted to 18,938. The month of November recorded the highest number of book loans, which was just a total of 2,418. This was followed by October with 2,330 loans. Access to the University’s history and records has now been made easier. • The Archives unit continued to offer information and past examination papers in digital format to users via the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) as well as through emails when the system was down.
