This recent upgrade gives users access to new and improved features of the online platform and an enhanced mobile-friendly environment. y y The ODL facilitated several stakeholder consultations and workshops to review the resource capacity and levels of support services required to meet the University’s targets for distance learning. y y On April 21, 2016, the School of Computing and Information Technology collaborated with the ODL to host a Distance Learning Forum on Digital Badges in UTechOnline. y y On November 17, 2016, ODL and the Faculty of Science and Sport hosted a Distance Learning Forum to discuss the online teaching experiences of two faculty members. The session gave the audience insight into the intricacies of developing and delivering an online module, and the implications for appropriate levels of human and technological resources. y y The Office of Distance Learning has launched its blog at https://officeofdistancelearning. wordpress.com Postings have included topics on MOOCs, information on distance learning courses and other resources to aid the teaching and learning process. Course and Module Development and Delivery within the Colleges and Faculties y y The School of Computing and Information Technology (SCIT) pilot tested its fully online version of the general education module, Information Technology. The pilot test commenced with six students from the Western Campus. Recommendations from the evaluation and review processes are being integrated for implementation. y y Seven general education and service modules have now been fully developed for online delivery to provide flexible access to students enrolled in the University’s programmes. y y A fourth cohort of students commenced the College of Health Sciences’ Online Post Diploma Staff participants at an ODL workshop.
